Simpson bay beach is not known for much more that the accommodations found there. So this made Karakter restaurant a bit tough to find. I thought we were a bit lost.

Never the less we kept on driving and there it was. The big sign was flying right in front of us.

I've done the hard work so all you need to know is that it's the last spot on the Mary's Boon strip.

As we entered the drive way to the restaurant, out came the most adorable puppy called 'Truus'. That's a Dutch name. She kept wagging her tail and sniffing our toes as much as to say "come on in".

One could not have asked for a better setting than the beauty and tranquility of Simpson bay beach.

On a clear day the southern location at Karakter offers a spectacular view of the other Islands, St Kitts, Saba and St Eustatius.

Anyway, I ordered a rainbow juice with fresh pineapple, orange and kiwi to start with.

Del my friend said her Mojito was the best she had had in ages.

There is a nice selection of fresh juices, mixed drinks, beer and wine.

The food menu was filled with light 'summery' sounding flavors, appropriate for a hot beach day.

I had the Gazpacho soup, while my friends tried several of the wraps, sandwiches and salads.

It was as fresh tasting as it sounded.

They are open daily 10 am to 8 pm. There is also a 'tapas' menu. Closed on Tuesdays.

I highly recommend this hangout to 'chill' with your friends.

While waiting on our food we took a quick dip in the ocean and then sat at the bar while others brought a book and got 'comfy' on a beach chair...

Karakter is run by Jorrit and Marleen who've decided to plunge into this extremely competitive restaurant industry.
